DURANT FARMS PULLING TEAM
9500lb Limited Hot Farm
Daryl and Karl are a father and son pulling team from Waterville NY. Daryl is a truck driver for HP Hood and Karl works road construction. We operate a farm that is in its third generation of about 500 acres and 75 head of beef cattle. Driving tractor was a normal job on the farm that turned into a weekend adrenaline rush.
When Karl was 17 years old he brought home an old pile of green metal (from Earle Ford.) Daryl's exact words "What the ---- are we going to do with that?" It has been a lot of hard work and many late nights/ early mornings in the shop, but we are proud to be where we are now. We have met a lot of great people and have many stories to tell.
One win we will never forget, was the Greenwich 11,200 lb night class. Daryl was in the seat, Karl on the sideline watching foot by foot. In a class of 40+ tractors, winning by 3 feet doesn't sound like much, unless you're talking to a fellow tractor puller. Happy pulling!

I am from the town of Ephratah where I live with my wife of 37 years, Traci. I also have one daughter, Shana. I have been driving truck delivering gas for Red Kap Sales in Schenectady NY for 27 years. I first started tractor pulling with Gary Weingates AKA The Red Barron. I bought my first tractor 30 years ago and was the points champion in 1990 for the NYTPA. I pulled tractor for 5 years, then I pulled trucks. I got back in a tractor seat three years ago when I decided to come back to tractor pulling and bought my IH 466.

10,500lb 466 Hot Farm
I am from Edmeston NY and I have been pulling since 2019, but as a kid I remember my dad helping Dave Galley on his superstock, and that really started my interest in pulling. I currently pull a JD 4455, owned by Lewis Farms in Saquoit NY. I am a welder/fabricator at Built-Right Fabrication LLC where we do pulling vehicle fabrication when time allows. My boss used to be an owner of the Wicked Whitetail that followed the NYTPA circuit. About 3-4 years ago, Jim Lewis and I developed a friendship and I have worked with him a lot on the fabrication needs of tractors from his shop. I have had a hand in building parts and pieces for Waterloo Wizard, Walkin' Tall, Blindside, Lewis Farms 6030, Lewis Farms 4455, Misunderstood Deere, Big Game, Never Satisfied (AC), Secret Weapon 4.1 Ltd Pro Edition, etc.

466 Hot Farm
I started pulling about 20 years ago on antique tractors, which I do still pull some today. I built a 466 two years ago and have had a lot of fun. During this last year's down time, I have totally rebuilt it for the 2021 season. I am a truck driver/heavy machine operator by trade. I have my lovely wife Macall Gardner and my mother Fay Marie Gardner to cheer me on, along with my pulling family. I pull for the fun, for the fans and for all my pulling friends, who I consider my pulling family.

I'm a CDLA truck driver for GoldStar Feed & Grain, delivering bulk grain and commodities, and work on my family's dairy farm when I can. I remember as a child riding in the tractors with my father to the pulls and I feel that was a big influence on me getting into pulling tractors. I remember as a kid going to the stage to retrieve my father's trophies for his wins, and carrying them around all day long. My first pull was on a JD 4020 when I was 12 or 13 years old up in Boonville at the Oneida County Fair. I would say my best pull so far was with our farm's JD 4440 at the Boonville fall pull 2015. In a tough class of stock farm tractors I waited my turn. I was one of the last tractors to pull. The entire class was ending up in the 290 to 300 foot range. Then it was my turn. I could just feel I had a good hook going, I had good speed and power. Next thing I knew I was at the 290 foot marker then the 300. At this time the tractor's front wheels lifted, 320 feet, and then finally came to a stop at 340 feet. I looked over towards the grand stands and people were cheering and fist pumping. I had just won the class by 40 feet! I still say the only way that day could've been better was if my father was in the tractor seat instead of me.

I'm married with two children, I work for ONC BOCES as a Career and Technical Education Teacher. I got into pulling from traveling to pulls and working on tractors with my father and uncle. I started with a garden tractor 25 years ago, continued with current tractor which has evolved many times along the way. I feel my best pull is when I can drive back on the trailer.

I grew up on my family farm; from the age of 12, when I pulled my first tractor, I realized that pulling tractors was in my blood. I enjoy the sport of pulling and it has been in the family for several years, my father has taught me everything I know about it. My hometown pull in Strykersville NY has always been one of my favorite pulls, and I accomplished several wins there as a kid. I have taken it to a new level, being one of the co-founders of the New York Hot Farm Pulling Series. I would like to see future generations be able to make great memories, like I have, for years to come.
