New York Hot Farm Pulling Series Rules 2026

General Rules

GENERAL RULES

1. Safety is always first! Good sportsmanship is always expected. 

2. Always operate in a safe manner. 

3. NO alcohol before pulling or driving equipment. 

        a. If you are caught drinking and driving you will not be able to compete and your entry fee will not be given back. You will be disqualified from the event.

4. No riders on tractors or in trucks while in the pits at any time – drivers only. 

5. Drivers must shut down before 100ft. mark to restart (breakage must drop to last). 

6. First puller in class has the option to come back last, only if the sled is reset. 

7. Drivers must remain in their seats during pull. If you lose control, you will be flagged. 




GENERAL RULES FOR ALL TRACTOR CLASSES

1. DRAW BARS: 

     a. Minimum of 18 inches from center of the rear axle to hitch point. 

     b. Maximum of 20 inches to top of hitch point. 

     c. Drawbar and assembly must be rigid and sturdy. 

            i. To be checked by tech officials. 

     d. FARM STOCK ONLY: Tractor must have drawbar attached to factory pull point

     e. Minimum of ¼ inch steel plate, to a maximum of 1 inch thick at hook point. 

     f. Minimum of 3 x 3.75-inch hole for hook. 

2. Weights: 

    a. All weights should be secured. 

    b. Weights should not interfere with hooking to the sled. 

    c. Front weights shall not extend 2’ from nose of tractor. 

    d. Rear weights shall not extend beyond rear most part of tires. 

    e. Rear wheel weights shall not extend beyond 2 feet of tire. 

    f. No weights may be moved once hooked to the sled. 

3. Loss of weights or parts will result in disqualifications. 

4. All tractors are to run one fuel only, fuels to be: gasoline (VP gas), diesel, alcohol, propane (No nitromethane, nitrous oxide or nitropropane).

5. BRAKES - All tractors must have working rear brakes capable of sliding each rear wheel. 

6. WHEELIE BARS - Must support the weight of tractor with 5x5 pads horizontal to the ground, this is MANDATORY. 

7. All tractors must have an ag rear end and stock transmission housing.

8. A functioning, up to date fire extinguisher must be mounted on all pulling vehicles, within reach of the driver. 

9. The only tractors that are allowed to jump classes are FARM STOCK tractors.



PROTEST 

1. All protests must be made in writing and submitted and signed within five (5) minutes of class being protested completion. Protest must clearly define three items: WHO is protested, WHAT they are protested for (limited to one item per protest), and by WHO is protesting. The protestor must be a competitor in the class which they are protesting; no protesting outside of one’s class will be allowed.


2. All protest fees will be in Cash. 

     a. If protested vehicle is found legal, then fee will be forfeited to person found legal. 

     b. If vehicle is found to be illegal, then vehicle and member are disqualified with a LOSS of PURSE and POINTS, and fee returned to protester. 


3. Fees for protest are as follows: 

    a. Cubic Inch- $1,500. Complete tear down. A 1% variance will be given for wear and tear. $200.00 from protest fee for teardown is paid to each club representative in charge of teardown; there will be two officials present at teardown, or 1 official and 1 board member if a second official is unable to be there. Remainder of teardown fee is returned to protestor or given to protested party pending outcome of teardown. 

    b. Visual, turbo, performance enhancements, etc.- $500  


4. Any Protest at New York Hot Farm Pulling Series events involving an engine tear down WILL occur at the event IMMEDIATELY following the conclusion of the event. Once a pulling vehicle is under protest, there will be NO tampering of ANY sort to the vehicle. The tractor must be in plain sight of the officials at all times until the conclusion of the event. At no time will a protested vehicle be allowed to leave the event before the conclusion of the event. Refusal of protested party to comply WILL result in protest being defined as a failure, all points will be forfeited, and 375-day suspension WILL follow. See bylaws for process to re-apply for membership after suspension period is over. 


5. Any competitor knowingly competing with performance enhancing equipment verified by a Tech Official will be disqualified for a period of 375 days from all NYHFPS events nationwide. Suspensions will include DRIVER and VEHICLE.


6. The Officials and protested puller are the ONLY people allowed near the vehicle during protest. Anyone causing disruption during a protest will be disqualified. 


7. The New York Hot Farm Pulling Series reserves the right to suspend a competitor for any rules violation and will receive notice in five (5) working days. 


8. Judge/Officials decisions during the event are FINAL.  

     a. To appeal an Official’s decision, the appealing member shall make a written request and deliver it to event director or NYHFPS President within 72 hours of the disqualification. The appeal shall be evaluated as promptly as possible. The meeting must allow parties involved the opportunity to personally present their position or facts at the meeting. A majority of the board will constitute a quorum for determination of any appeal and majority of those present will make the decision. Only annual members have the right to appeal. 



Disqualifications

1. A chalk line will be used to mark boundaries from 0 to 330 ft with a cone or marker at 330 ft mark which chows the end of the track. Any part of the pulling vehicle that touches or goes over the marked chalk line will result in an out of bounds disqualification


2. In a speed limit class, a vehicle that posts a speed on the speed board that is above the limit for that class will result in disqualification.


3. Loss of weight under green flag 


4. Loss or failure of safety equipment or equipment belonging to vehicle under the green flag 


5. Illegal fuel or water injection


6. Loss of excessive liquid


7. Unsportsmanlike Conduct- Any competitor or crew member displaying unsportsmanlike conduct at any NYHFPS events, whether verbal or physical, will result in loss of points and purse for event where the actions take place. Any second offense after official notification in writing by NYHFPS will be cause for the competitor and team suspension for up to 375 days from date of infraction

10,500lb 466 Hot Farm Rules

10500 LB 466 Hot Farm   

1. 20.8 max tire, any cut 

2. At least a three-bar roll cage and 5-point seat belt harness in roll cage required

3. Driver MUST wear at least a fire jacket, gloves, helmet, pants, and leather boots. ALL tractors must be equipped with a WORKING fire extinguisher

4. All tractors will have cubic inches measured by an official before competing

5. Engine

       a. Maximum 480 cubic inches. 

       b. Must have cable around the motor between 1st and 2ndcylinder with four clamps

       c. Must have OEM head with no deck plate

       d. Any injection pump up to P7100

       e. Turbo size to be maximum of 3 x 3 in. No reducers

       f. Turbo must have a blanket. 

6. All cooling fans must be electrically operated. No factory metal blades on water pumps. 

7. A 3 way fuel pump bypass valve is required ahead of the injection pump. This valve is to be operated by a cable within the drivers reach when strapped in seat.

8. No intercoolers are allowed. 

9. Water Injection is allowed. 

       a. No alcohol, windshield washer fluid or other enhancers. Water pump lubricant is ok. 

10. Flywheel protection in the form of a scatter blanket. Scatter blanket must be 360 degrees around the flywheel area. 

11. Tractor must have OEM exhaust manifold. No T6 flange

12.  TURBO 

       a. MAP ring enhancement grooves are allowed. 

       b. All turbos will be checked before competition and sealed. 

13.  Hitch 

       a. height shall be 20” 

       b. length shall be 18” minimum, from center of axle to hook point. 

       c. Drawbar must be rigid in all directions 

                   i. No movement allowed while pulling. 

       d. Hitch hole to be 3.75 x 3.0in.

       e. Drawbar must be within 10 degrees parallel to the ground. 

       f. Hitch must be horizontal Not vertical

       g. All hitch components must be steel

                 i. No cast components. 

14.  Tractor Frame-Chassis

       a. All tractors must have wide front end configuration. 

       b. Exhaust pipe must be cross-bolted with two 3/8” grade five bolts within 1 inch of each other in vertical pipe and two 3/8” bolts within 2 inches or close to exhaust wheel as possible of exhaust housing. A billet cross, mounted to the exhaust wheel is acceptable in lieu of cross bolts. 

       c. Maximum of 114 inches wheelbase unless originally produced with a longer wheelbase at which point the wheelbase will remain stock. Mandatory front hitch. 

       d. Rear wheelie bars installed in accordance with the following specifications: 

                i. Pads on bottom of bars to be a minimum of 5 inch square pads. 

               ii. Pads maximum of 10 inches off the ground. 

              iii. Minimum 12 inch high bumper bars - top to be fastened to stabilizer bar framing. 

              iv. Bars must support weight of the tractor for weight class being pulled. 

15.  Tractors must have working air shutoff and dead man throttle. The throttle must have at least 2 springs. The air shutoff cable must activate the air shutoff to the engine and must be positive-type enclosed cable with a minimum 2” diameter solid ring – 1/8” cross section thickness attached to it. Air shutoff must also be able to be operated manually by the operator from the seat of the tractor. 

16.  Side panels are mandatory on both sides of the engine and cover the entire engine. Either aluminum or steel not less than 0.060” thick. There must be a firewall that separates the operator from the engine compartment with no hole more than ½ in diameter for controls to pass through. A 0.060” thick or .120” thick aluminum must run between frame and under the harmonic balancer to prevent loss of harmonic balancer from tractor. Side shields need to be pinned on; NOT BOLTED. 

17.  A fire extinguisher is required within reach of the driver 

18. Neutral light – Light must come on in neutral and start in neutral, with light on 

19.  Wheel Hubs and Tires

       a. Must be steel weld on hubs or heavy duty clamps on hubs. No cast iron

7,700lb Light Hot Farm Rules

  

7,700 LB LIGHT HOT FARM

1.  OEM cylinder head must be for series engine used

       a. No recast; No aluminum; No overhead cams allowed

2. All tractors will have cubic inches measured by an official before competing

3. Engine

       a. Maximum 480 cubic inches

       b. Must have cable around the motor between 1st and 2ndcylinder with four clamps

       c. OEM fuel only – Diesel pump fuel – No accelerants. Water injection permitted – No accelerants or alcohol permitted

       d. Injection pump to be limited to a maximum of P-3000 or P-7100 series pump with a mechanically operated governor, one barrel and plunger per cylinder

       e. One Single Turbo charger must be under hood. Hood may be modified to accept the turbo charger 

       f. Turbo size to be maximum of 3 x 3 in. Either T4 or T6

                 i. Turbo must have a blanket

                ii. Turbo must have cross in front and rear 

       g. All cooling fans must be electrically operated. No factory metal blades on water pumps

       h. A 3 way fuel pump bypass valve is required ahead of the injection pump. This valve is to be operated by a cable within the drivers reach when strapped in seat

                 i. No intercoolers are allowed

       j. Flywheel protection in the form of a scatter blanket or a blow-proof bell housing 

       i. Scatter blanket must be 360 degrees around the flywheel area

      k. One manifold change permitted. (Intake OR exhaust) But not both

4. TURBO 

      a. MAP ring enhancement grooves are allowed

      b. All turbos will be checked before competition and sealed 

5. Hitch 

      a. Height shall be 20” 

      b. Length shall be 18” minimum, from center of axle to hook point 

      c. Drawbar must be rigid in all directions 

               i. No movement allowed while pulling 

      d. Hitch hole to be 3.75 x 3.0 in

      e.  Drawbar must be within 10 degrees parallel to the ground 

      f. Hitch must be horizontal Not vertical

     g. All hitch components must be steel

               i. No cast components 

6. Tractor Frame-Chassis

      a. All tractors must have wide front end configuration 

      b. All exhaust must discharge upwards with a minimum pipe length of 18” from the hood line. No rain caps. Exhaust pipe must be cross-bolted with two 3/8” grade five bolts within 1 inch of each other in vertical pipe and two 3/8” bolts within 2 inches or close to exhaust wheel as possible of exhaust housing. A billet cross, mounted to the exhaust wheel is acceptable in lieu of cross bolts 

      c. The frame and weights must not extend any further than 13 feet from center of rear axle to further most point – excluding tow hook. The wheelbase must not exceed 144”

7. Rear wheelie bars installed in accordance with the following specifications: 

       a. Pads on bottom of bars to be a minimum of 5 inch square pads. 

       b. Pads to be a minimum of 32 inches rearwards from the center of the rearward housing

       c. Pads maximum of 10 inches off the ground

       d. Outside to outside width of pads to be a minimum of 20 inches

       e. Minimum 12 inch high bumper bars - top to be fastened to stabilizer bar framing

       f. Bars must support weight of the tractor for weight class being pulled 

8. Tractors must have working rear brakes

9. Side shields are required and must be made out of 0.060” aluminum or 1/16” metal

10. Front skid bars mandatory

11. Tie bars required from front of clutch housing to rear axle housing.

12.  At least a two-bar roll cage and 5-point seat belt harness in roll cage required

       a. Rollover protection must be able to lift one rear wheel when pulled horizontally from the top of the cage without damage to the roll cage 

13.  No component chassis 

14.  Tractors must have working air shutoff and dead man throttle. The throttle must have at least 2 springs. The air shutoff cable must activate the air shutoff to the engine and must be positive-type enclosed cable with a minimum 2” diameter solid ring – 1/8” cross section thickness attached to it. Air shutoff must also be able to be operated manually by the operator from the seat of the tractor 

15.  Tractors must have a shield that consists of a solid barrier between the driver and any part of the rear tires. The barrier must be able to support the weight of the driver and must extend a minimum of 6” horizontally at the top, and be a minimum of 36” wide at the top 

16.  Harmonic balancer must be shielded to contain the balancer within the vehicle

17.  A fire extinguisher is required within reach of the driver

18. Neutral light – Light must come on in neutral and start in neutral, with light on 

19.  Wheel Hubs and Tires

       a. Must be steel weld on hubs or heavy-duty clamp on hubs. No cast iron 

        b. Tire sizes 18.4 x 38, 24.5 x 32, and 20.8 x 38

                   i. Tire size is one a trial basis for 2026

                  ii. No pro puller holeshot or Mitas tires
